Support Refugees

For EMCC Churches:

Church groups have the opportunity to walk in step with displaced persons, as they resettle into local Canadian communities. Assisting one family can have an impact for years to come, not only on those who have been sponsored, and those who sponsor, but also the whole community and future generations.

EMCC and World Partners do not sponsor refugees directly, but assist our churches in their support of refugees and New Canadians. Churches that are interested in sponsoring, would follow the path of a Community Sponsor application. However, the government has put a pause on Community Sponsor applications until December 31, 2025. We have no other avenue available at this time.

If You are a Refugee:

We are a denomination office and do not sponsor directly. The local church is the place to start looking. We will not forward your information on to them, nor do we have a list of churches looking for refugees to sponsor.

Keep in mind that the government likes to resettle refugees in the same area as other family members. If you have family in Canada, we encourage you to reach out to organizations and churches in their community.

Collaborate

If your group is not in a position to take on a sponsorship at this time but is interested in helping other sponsoring groups to meet the financial commitments required for sponsorship, consider making a donation to our Refugee Fund.
