Pray It Forward

During our Season of Prayer, we invite all EMCC people to “pray it forward.”

You have probably heard of the phrase, “Pay it forward.” The selfless action of someone in front of you at the drive-through who pays for the coffee you just ordered. That simple kindness often surprises us but also catalyzes us to bless another person.

May the same be true of our prayers for each other during this season. We challenge you to listen to the Spirit, call someone, and pray with them.

We encourage our pastors to call another pastor (perhaps a friend, but maybe the Spirit will instruct you to call someone you know of but not well) and offer to pray for them. If you receive a “prayer-call” from someone, pray it forward. Call another pastor and bless them. If you need a pastor’s contact information, please get in touch with your Regional Minister.

If you are a member of an EMCC congregation, consider calling a person in your congregation or from a different congregation and praying with them. The call doesn’t have to be lengthy - the prayer simply kind and heartfelt. Then, after the prayer, invite them to pray it forward.
