Introducing the New President of Rocky Mountain College

The Board of Directors of Rocky Mountain College (RMC) is pleased to announce Rev. Dr. Michael Swalm as the new President effective January 2, 2025.

For the past 20 years he has served at Abundant Life Church in Calgary as well as being an adjunct faculty at RMC for the last 14 years, teaching theology and Biblical studies courses. He is currently chair of the Board of Regents for Canadian Baptist Seminary in British Columbia. He and his wife live in Calgary where they raise their 4 children.

Michael attended RMC and then graduated from Bethel College (BA) in Indiana as well as Acadia Seminary in Nova Scotia (MA) and Northern Seminary in Chicago (D.Min).

Michael is an excellent communicator who enjoys interacting with people from many different backgrounds. He has a proven track record of leading others and engaging with those actively involved in ministry. He has a passion to see RMC excel in its mission of preparing people for ministry and to see RMC become a well-recognized centre for training as a supportive partner to the church. Michael’s long history with RMC gives him a perspective that will enable him to lead RMC with excellence. He is a man of spiritual integrity, and we anticipate what God will do through him at RMC. We look forward with enthusiasm to all that God will continue to do in the world through you, our faithful supporters, as he guides us into this next season of service.
