FRETZ, Rev. Lloyd David (EMCC Ordained Minister)
1938-2024
With some sadness mixed with joy, we announce the peaceful passing of Rev. Lloyd Fretz into the presence of his Saviour surrounded by his family at Nithview in New Hamburg on April 26, 2024.
Beloved husband to Marie for 65 wonderful years. Loving father to: Matthew (Karen), Alayne (Craig), Rebecca (Rob) and David (Rachal). Proud grandfather to: Natalie (Shawn), Bryanna (Andrew), Nicki (Emmett), Lincoln, Jett, Camryn and Judah. Treasured great grandfather to: Arynn. Cherished brother to: Armand and the late Paul, Joy and Eldon - and step-brother to: Ivan Good. Predeceased by his father Willis and mother Ruth.
He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, and all his extended family. It was his great joy to serve as pastor and church planter in West Rouge as well as pastoring other churches (Sarnia, Plattsville and Elmira) and serving as District Superintendent for the Evangelical Missionary Church and pastor to donors for EBC, always with Marie by his side. During his days as pastor, he also started and ran a successful carpet and drapery business in Vineland with the help of his father. He also taught at James Robinson Public School in Markham where he coached sports teams, taught music and headed up dramatic productions. He influenced many lives for the gospel and encouraged many to pursue excellence in life and for God’s kingdom.
Thank you to all the staff at Nithview Home for the care and compassion given to Lloyd in his final days. Resting at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 2723 Victoria St. N., Breslau, where cremation has taken place and the family will be having a private interment.
