FERGUSON, Alexander McMaster (Father-in-law to EMCC Ordained Minister Rev. Chris Gatten)
January 7, 1938 – April 15, 2021
Alex, age 83, died peacefully at home with his family by his side on April 15, 2021. Born January 7, 1938, in Paisley, Scotland to James and Margaret (McMaster) Ferguson. Beloved husband of 61 years to Letitia (Letty) Nee Guthrie. Loving father to son Brian (Sonia) and daughter Alison (Chris Gatten*). Grandfather to Zack Ferguson, Ben Ferguson, and Jeremy White. Brandon Gatten (Cassandra), Spencer Gatten, Connor Gatten (Lauren), Caleb Gatten and Olivia Gatten. Great Grandfather to Quinn Ferguson, Zoey Gatten, Charlie Gatten, Lincoln Gatten and the wee Gatten soon to be.
Alex moved his wife Letty and two children to Canada in 1974 to make a better life for them. He worked a few different jobs but eventually settled at General Motors. Alex made many friends as he was very easy to get along with. Many of his friends he counted as family. Alex had a great subtle sense of humour. Many times, in conversations, he would add his zingers and have us all laughing about them for days. He was loving, caring, gentle, and kind and there was never any doubt that he loved his family. He will be deeply missed.
Just one year ago, on April 19, 2020, Alex and Letty were led into a relationship with Jesus by their daughter Alison and son-in-law Chris*. Knowing that Alex is now in the arms of the Lord brings great comfort to the family.
