Shiloh Nott, approved for Licensed Minister May 4, 2022
Shiloh grew up in Pickering, Ontario. At about six, she responded to a Sunday School teacher’s invitation and accepted Christ. Her love for Jesus and serving was instrumental in her decision to attend bible college, and she enrolled at Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, ON, in 1995. There, she met Dale Nott, also a student, and the couple married in 1996.
After graduating in 1999 with a BRE in Music, Shiloh worked directing music in a couple of churches until 2010. She next worked at Compassion Canada, but a change of employment for Dale necessitated a move to Three Hills, Alberta in 2013. She worked as a teacher’s aide for six years. Bethel EMC became their church home and later, the church asked Shiloh to be part of their pastoral transition team. Shortly afterwards, the job at the school ended. “I had a growing sense that the Lord was pulling me back into ministry,” says Shiloh. She went through the CREST Leadership program and took courses at Prairie Bible College to further prepare. When the position as Director of Community and Connecting ministries became available in mid-2020, Shiloh applied.
Shiloh oversees family and outreach ministries. “It is my goal that our church will have more opportunities to reach out to the community. We are trying to break the barriers between outside and inside. I want to help Christians become more transparent and real, so others can feel more able to connect. I love coming alongside the volunteers I recruit, supporting and empowering them. It feels like we are ‘hands-on’ in building the church. It is gratifying to see people serving in their area of giftedness.”
Shiloh loves spending time with Dale and their three sons, aged 20, 18, and 15. She likes to read, relax, and study and is currently taking a course with Carey Theological College.
