    Season of Prayer

February 7, 2025 by Pam Hicks

    Season of Prayer

The National Team calls all credential holders and member churches to join in a Season of Prayer: 40 days of collective, concerted and unified prayer from March 21 (the first day of Spring) to April 30 (the day before Assembly 2025). The National Team will provide resources to guide our prayer in various ways. The primary focus of our prayers will be on the harvest – praying to the Lord of the Harvest, anticipating His movement and the multiplication of His Kingdom. We will seek to encourage collective opportunities to pray together nationally and regionally. We believe this season of prayer will prepare us for our Assembly on May 1-3, 2025 and beyond.

The EMCC has partnered with Ignite Prayer Canada as a co-sponsor. We are part of a network dedicated to equipping local churches to foster cultures of kingdom prayer. Visit igniteprayer.ca to learn more and find resources to help your church become a House of Prayer (Isaiah 56:7, Mark 11:17).

Prayer in Turbulent Times – Sponsored by EFC
Zoom Gathering on February 20, 2025 at 11:00 am ET

The start of 2025 has been marked by new and ongoing crises. The toppled Assad regime in Syria, the ongoing Israel/Gaza and Ukraine/Russia conflicts, the Los Angeles wildfires, the US presidential transition and inter-country tension, and a looming Canadian election can cause anxiety for young and old alike. It’s not an understatement to say that we face turbulent times.

It’s when we might feel like the world is out of control that we must return to our first priority: prayer (1 Tim 2:1-2). While prayer is our everyday privilege and responsibility, it’s in times like these we wonder: How specifically do we pray when nations conspire, when rulers rise and fall, and when creation groans? (Psalm 2 & 46). The EFC invites you to gather with us to consider this pressing question for our day. Dr. David Guretzki, President/CEO and Resident Theologian of the EFC, will present biblical guidance on this theme, followed by corporate biblically informed and united prayer for our country, for the world, and for Christ’s church “in these turbulent times.”
