Surge is the word that captures the heart of what I believe Jesus envisions as He builds His church. When I imagine a church surging forward it includes a church that is giving thought to, and having conversation about how the Way of Jesus will be lived out. This was the point of both the “Way of Jesus TALKS” and the Discovery Assessment Project.
There is work to be done yet in determining how the top three priorities – disciple-making, prayer and helping marginalized people to flourish, will become reality. This work will be completed before the end of 2018 as we work through the Pastor Development Retreats this fall.

How grateful I am for the high level of curiosity and expectation of what is to come! This was so evident both in the conversations held with one another and in the heart cries of prayer at the Sacred Prayer Assemblies. It is no small thing for me to say, “Blessed are those whom God trusts and in whom His confidence rests!” for this is us. The favor of God over us is immense and will remain as we stay focused on His purposes, and as we walk in obedience to the ways of Jesus!
Thanks to all who participated in Regional Gathering 2018 and gratitude to the EastRidge and CrossRoads EMC churches for hosting us; to the worship teams for helping us to magnify Jesus; and to Pastors Lou Geense and Dan Cochrane for inspiring us to know what we were “Made to Be!”
Please make plans for being part of General Assembly 2019, April 26-28 in Toronto Ontario!
