  • The Lincoln Heights EM Church in Waterloo, Ontario was excited to host a gathering of about 80 people on Saturday, June 20th for the 50th Anniversary of the congregation.  The event started with a picnic luncheon and was followed by a celebration worship service.  As part of their worship time, present and former members of the church shared memories and reflections of their time at Lincoln Heights, along with words of encouragement.  Rev. Denise Mazik shared a ministry of music, and Ruth Anne Thornton sang “This Year of Jubilee,” a song she wrote for the anniversary of the church.  Pastor Mark Thornton spent some time reflecting on the meaning of the Year of Jubilee, and led the congregation in a prayer of thanksgiving.  One of the early pastors of Lincoln Heights Church, Dr. Tom Dow, shared a message of reflection and challenge to all who attended.  Following a group photo, the event finished with a cake prepared for the anniversary.  "This was a great celebration of all that God has done through the ministry of Lincoln Heights Church over the years, and we are deeply thankful for all who came." --Pastor Mark Thornton
