About Joel and His Assignment
Joel has been serving as Interim Director of World Partners since August 2017. No stranger to the EMCC, Joel is a graduate of Emmanuel Bible College and was a founding pastor of Royal City Church in Guelph, Ontario for 11 years. He was appointed to serve as the Assistant District Superintendent in the former Canada East District of EMCC, and then as a Regional Minister for the national church for nearly 13 years, coaching and guiding congregations and leaders across Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. He helped develop the GC2 Coaching resource, and delivered it to hundreds of pastors and leaders across Canada and internationally.
Husband to Christie and father of adult children, Joel lives in the community of Guelph and continues to participate in the life of Royal City Church and Life Centre.
Joel has demonstrated a commitment to living in the way of Jesus, which shapes his thinking about how we communicate across cultures that God desires all people to experience restored relationship with Jesus, with one another, and with all creation. Further, Joel carries a mind, heart, and imagination for Jesus' mission that will position World Partners to build capacity in others, and guide them into abundant, flourishing life.
Joel will continue to provide oversight to the amazing work of our World Partners team and other credentialed missionaries/workers. He'll oversee our emergency relief work, refugee sponsorship, and support for healthy global mission engagement in EMCC churches. He’ll also encourage holistic development principles in all the contexts where we serve. |
