The Way of Jesus: Anchors
Here are several sayings we would encourage you to commit to memory to keep you rooted in the same faith that has guided followers of Jesus through the centuries.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit; born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried, and he descended into hell.
The third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven; and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy universal Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.
Amen.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father in heaven:
May your holy name be honored;
your Kingdom come;
your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today the food we need.
Forgive us the wrongs we have done,
as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us.
Keep us from yielding to temptation and deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, Forever and ever. Amen
Walking in the Light
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus,
his Son, purifies us from all sin.
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:7-9)
His Teaching
… you have known the sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work. (2 Tim 3:15-17)
His Love
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matt 22:37-40)

And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. (2 Tim 2:2)
