Pleasant Words – Special Occasion Cards from EMCWomen

Don’t know what to get for the person who has everything? How to honour that woman who doesn’t want attention or accolades? How to tell someone you care? With the help of two artists from River’s Edge Community Church in Selkirk, Manitoba, EMCWomen has a solution.

For many years the In Honour / In Memory Card Program has been an important part of Women’s Ministries. When EMCWomen was formed, we realized we needed to update the cards and program that is still used by several churches. We have expanded the selection and there are now four cards available for use. Each card features original artwork and corresponding scripture.

The artwork was donated for our use by Deanne Miller and Lorena Ferguson. Deanne crafts beautiful watercolours. Lorena’s paintings have the simple lines and dramatic colours that are typical of modern art. Each card is a testimony to the talent that God has given these women.

The cards are appropriate for use in many situations. We have four cards available at this time. The Celebration card may be used for birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations. Our collection also includes an Encouragement card. The In Honour and Sympathy cards complete our selection.

The program is very easy to use. First, make your card selection. Next, complete and mail the accompanying Allocation Card to EMCWomen with your donation. Finally, present your card to your friend or loved one. Donations will benefit the ministries and projects of EMCWomen.

If you would like to donate to the cost of printing these cards, please send your donation to EMCWomen, 130 Fergus Ave., Kitchener, ON N2A 2H2 and mark it Printing Costs.

A sample of each card will be sent to your church’s EMCWomen contact. If you would like a set, please contact Debi Snider at emcwomen@emcc.ca.
