Using Your Home to Reflect Your Faith (12/17/2008)

“You know what I enjoyed most about the day? -The fellowship of the ladies. It's been a long time since I've had opportunity to attend a women’s rally or retreat, and it was nice just to spend a few hours with women.” This was one woman’s comment about her day at the EMCWomen’s Rally at Oyen EMC on November 23rd.

Women of today are busy; often heavily involved on many fronts. They choose carefully how to spend discretionary time. Sometimes it’s a great thing just to slow down and spend time with others who may be ‘in the same boat’.

oyenThe Oyen women were joined by several from Bethel EMC in Hanna, AB and Hope EMC in Burstall, SK. The theme for the day was Faith Begins at Home based on Mark Holman’s books and resources. Debi Snider, Director of EMCWomen presented lessons and principles from Joshua 24 encouraging women from all types of life situations to use their homes to reflect their faith in Christ. The day was a mix of study, discussion, discovery and the simple joy of being together. One of the afternoon highlights was a time to make a beautiful Christmas table decoration.

If your women’s group would like to offer a seminar with this focus to the women in the EMCC churches within your driving area, contact Debi at emcwomen@emcc.ca.
