GC2 Coaching and Network Training – Learning to Empower Others for Increased Ministry Effectiveness (4/22/2008)

“This stuff is gold, I can’t believe more people aren’t here taking this training.”
“Thanks for allowing us to participate with your training.”
“These are very practical, learned skills which I can apply to my ministry setting.”
“The interactive times of learning are great.”

The above are just a few comments received from people who have been involved in GC2 Coaching and Network Training offered throughout the country by EMCC.

We are striving to give leaders the skills to empower others and increase ministry effectiveness. This involves two learning tracks and practicum for students to engage in their learning.

Over the last year Tracks One and Two have been held at River’s Edge Camp, west of Cremona, AB. The first track was held in October of 2007 and we had about 35 participants. Approximately 1/3 of them have been from outside the EMCC as people from other denominational groups are seeing this as a great resource for their people. The second track was held at the beginning of March 2008 and we had about half EMCC and half non-EMCC participants.

Regional Minister Lynn Dietz and I have also had the opportunity to take this training beyond our regular training schedule. We have engaged with the National Team of the Baptist General Conference of Canada, bringing GC2 Training to their Regional Ministry Team. There are plans to work with the Centre Street Youth Team with some on site training later in June 2008.

As we continue to offer this training we see it engaging in the very culture of EMCC and beyond. It is making a difference in how people go about their ministry and develop leaders.
