Sharing the Ministry of Reconciliation (4/15/2008)

Donald and Lorraine Gingras, are EMCC WP Missionaries serving Centre Missionnaire Cri du Coeur pour le Quebec in Montreal. They are excited to report fruit from the labors of their core leadership team as several people have placed their faith in Christ as Savior. Far from being the end of their task, the team is busy discipling the new believers and laboring on with those who have yet to make a solid commitment to Christ.

Elisa and Jérôme host a Disciple Making House Church in Repentigny. Elisa's brother Domenico was touched as he witnessed “love in action" modeled by two EMCC mission teams (Elmira, ON and Bonavista, AB) that came to do renovations to prepare Jerome and Elisa's home for ministry. The care, love and joy demonstrated by the Teams shocked Domenico. He began to show interest and attend the activities. One evening he asked: “How do I know if I am reconciled with God?” Now a believer, he is growing and being discipled by Jérôme.

Nicole has been a neighbor of Donald and Lorraine's for a long time. Four years ago, a relationship began as Lorraine had opportunity to visit Nicole’s elderly mother who was fearful of dying. Nicole began to help Lorraine's teaching ministry by doing computer work. She took Lorraine's Alpha Home version with her mom and Lorraine's mom. Nicole accepted Jesus as Lord and began Bible studies with Lorraine. After a faithful four year process and perseverance, Nicole joined the core group of disciples.

Jérôme attended his business’ family Christmas party. During the party he was talking about Christianity with a relative. Francine, (a co-worker) joined the conversation. She asked many questions about the Gospel and Jesus. Feeling prompted by the Holy Spirit, Jérôme asked Francine if she would like to be reconciled with God. She became a believer that day and began doing Mailbox Bible studies. Jérôme's wife Lisa is following up with Francine.

Matthieu lives with his girlfriend and child and works at a gas station where Jérôme gets his gas. One day, while Jérôme was paying his bill, Matthieu shrugged and made a comment: "Only one life to live!” Jérôme replied: "On earth, yes, but there will be another life." Matthieu asked Jérôme if he believes in re-incarnation. “No”, answered Jérôme. “I believe in the Bible.” Matthieu replied: "I believe in God too. I prayed to Him when my girlfriend had cancer and when my daughter was sick” Jérôme explained to him what is it means to have a relationship with Jesus. The next time Jérôme got gas Matthieu was happy to share that he had prayed and asked Christ to be in his life. Although Matthieu is showing interest in talking about God, he is not yet showing signs of new spiritual birth.
